The ICRC Hostages Are Crying For Help
Mary Jane Lacaba, Andreas Notter of Switzerland and Eugenio Vagni of Italy were abducted by gunmen in Jolo, Sulu, on Jan. 15, just after they finished inspecting water facilities in the Jolo jail.
It was only much later that the Abu Sayyaf bandit group, through Albader Parad, claimed responsibility for the abduction.
Their ordeal appears nowhere near resolution although the military claims they have sealed of the Abu Sayyaf encampment in Indanan, Sulu where the victims are being held.
That the hostages’ trauma over their desperate situation is deepening each passing day is abaduntly clear.
Sulu vice governor Anne Sahidulla has been able to freely visit the hostages and claims the Abu Sayyaf unit holding them is not demanding any ransom, just the pull-out of the military BEFORE they open negotiations to end the impasse.
The bandits are calling the shots!!!???
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is going about her business attending the ASEAN summit in Bangkok this weekend.
This writer asks is there anyone out there hearing the ICRC hostages’ cry for help?
