The PacMan Fights The HitMan

May 1, 2009

Manny Pacquiao is looking at a $ 20-M paycheck his weekend at the square arena of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, not yet counting this share from the gate and pay-per-view receipts.

While his British rival, Ricky Hatton has only been beaten once, the Philippines’ ‘National Fist’ has more knockouts to his credits and is the undisputed best pound for pound boxer in the world today.

Even the communist and secessionist insurgencies will pause for the fight, along with ordinary criminal elements and the Philippines’ feuding politicians.

The only side story thus far is how up to 50 congressmen are in Las Vegas for the fight, braving even the danger of contractine deadly swine flu just to see the fight and probably even place bets , given how bookmakers say Pacquiao is a 2 to 1 favorite over Hatton.

Dismayed Filipinos have gone to the extent of suggesting that the galivanting lawmakers be barred from returning to Manila as potential health hazards.

For Manny Pacquiao the fight will again be for God, Country, and his beloved family.
