Is Mar Roxas Starting To Surge Towards 2010?

pulse may 2009 top five

There are new indications that the political sands are starting to settle somewhat 11 months before the next presidential elections.

And down look now, while the opinion pollster  Pulse Asia is saying that there is “a statistical ties” among the five leading presidential aspirants, it is the Liberal Party’s likely standard bearer, Manuel Araneta Roxas – Mar as he prefers to be called – has made the biggest leap in the rankings.

I am now getting the feeling that Mar is starting to surge and could very well become the opposition’s strongest bet outside of former president Estrada.

I am making the observation after also having closely tracked his performance in the first episode of the ABS-CBN Leaders Foum during which Mar projected a clear vision of what he wanted to do.

I daresay that Mar’s winnability will get a bost when he marries hugely popular journalist Korina Sanchez in the next several months.

Your Midfielder thinks that while Vice President Noli De Castro still leads the pack his numbers will start to level off given his continued pro GMA posture.

Senator Manny Villar is betting that the current brouhaha over how he profited from the C-5 road extextension and realignment will paint him as an underrgo and a victim of a political smear campaign.  .

The truth, however, is there is solid evidence about his unethical, if not illegal conduct and while he may not get expelled from the Senate his presidential ambitions are in trouble.

If graft charges against Villar reach the Sandiganbayan that could abort even his filing of candidacy papers.

Assuming that the elections are not waylaid by charter change or any extra legal upheaval the 2010 contest will become a clear judgment vote on the widely disliked Arroyo presidency.

Senator Francis Escudero is certain to be the standard bearer of Sanding Cojuangco’s Nationalist People’s Coalition.

But I predict that the doubts about his being a true oppositionist are growing stronger each passing day even as he hopes the youth vote will be ticket to victory.

GMA, the need for transparent and pro-people accountable governance that upholds the rule of law, will be the primary issues that will be at bar on May 10, 2019.

The candidate who takes a firm and unequivocal position on these will be the next President.

I can’t help but see the similarities between Chiz and Barack Obama.

      Hi aperockstar.

I guess from your comment you’re leaning in Chiz’s direction and I respect that.

What I’m trying to figure out is if he’s for real.

Beyond the “similarities between Chiz and Barack Obama” that you see I’d want Chiz to speak beyond his rehearsed motherhood statement and expound on his vision on how to get us out of the rut our society is in, including how he’ll handle GMA and her high crimes.
