Shooting The Messenger, Being In Denial

June 9, 2009

“It’s the opposition’s fault that President Arroyo is mistrusted by the people. They’re giving the public the wrong information. She works very hard. As for the Con-Ass resolution in the House of Representatives, the President cannot interfere with the lawmakers. They know what the’re doing. They are intelligent.”

These were the words of winsome Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo when asked about the findings of Pulse Asia that Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is the “most mistrusted public official.

So there.

As far as the Palace is concerned Filipinos are misinformed.

No matter that past actions have done little to shore up Mrs. Arroyo’s ‘believability’ ever since she broke her promise not to run again.

No metter that her allies are admitting they might propose extending her term if they succeed in convening a Senate-less Con-Ass.

No matter that her frequent visits to Lubao, Pampanga (16 and counting) are raising suspicions that she’ll run to be a deputado en route to becoming Prime Minister if Charter change results in the shift to the parliamentary form of government.

You be the judge.

arroyo’s spokesperson gives the opposition too much credit. arroyo suffers in performance and trust ratings not because the people listen to the opposition, it is because arroyo has not performed her job to benefit the people. the people know what is happening in their lives, they are just expressing that in surveys. the person to blame for arroyo’s poor performance rating should only go to herself.

the con-ass is prime example. they know the people do not want cha-cha and yet she has allowed her supporters to pass it congress. if arroyo wants the people to rate her better in performance, she should step up and ask the admin RAPISTSentatives to junk the con-ass BS.

not saying anything about it, allowing something the people do not want to happen is PRECISELY why she has been getting bad performance ratings in the first place. DUH!
