Erap To GMA: See You In Parliament; WTF?

June 16, 2009

GMA ERAP MONTAGE

Our political leaders either have such selfless love for the Filipino people ot think that we such a sorry, gullible lot that we’ll hitch our grey-colored fates on their own ‘brilliant’ stars for our salvation.

Not only is Gloria Macapagal Arroyo preparing to stay in power by amending the Constitution so she can become a national assembly deputy (en route to being crowned Prime Minister) but noW Joseph Estrada, ousted in EDSA Dos then convicted of plunder (but pardoned by GMA), says he too may seek a seat in a ConAss-created parliament.

This, so he can do battle with Gloria!

And make no mistake about it.

Their home districts in Lubao, Pampanga, and San Juan City congressional districts, respectively, will undoubtedly elect them. Arroyo and Estrada reckon they’ll even save money!

Yup, we must be such a sorry lot, indeed, and it will in large part be our fault.

Between selling their votes and being so easily taken by motherhood promises,

Filipino voters fail to really go beyond the charisma of politicians to study just what they stand for and whether they offer genuine visions for how government can deliver basic services instead of engaging in patronage and transactional politics.

For society to move forward and progress Filipinos must become the change agents themselves instead of just an Erap or a GMA intent on either being restored to office or hanging on to power.

Something must change for this vicious cycle of patronage and transactional politics to stop.

If peaceful moral renewal does not come,  more and more Filipinos will buy the argument that the entire political system must undergo a possibly violent revolutionary change!

Something must be done for this vicious cycle of patronage and transactional politics to stop.

This must be why other Filipinos, possibly an increasing number, saying the entire political system must undergo a revolutionary change!
