Don’t Forget Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, QC And Bulacan!!! (Retitled, Updated)
This is an SOS post for the estimated 1,000 families in Quezon City’s Barangay Sta. Lucia.
In my Facebook live chat window comes this first person ACCOUNT AND APPEAL I have not removed a single word:
Bakit wala sa news ang Barangay Sta Lucia Novaliches QC?
Anim na ka-barangay ko ang namatay dahil kay Ondoy, daming nawalan ng bahay at kabuhayan but it seems that news is concentrated to rizal, pasig, cainta etc.
Parang no mention about our barangay.
FYI lang at sana maparating din sa ibang news group: more than a thousand families din ang naapektuhan sa area naming.
(Ang baha) more than 20 feet sa kalye. Yung house ko dalawang dangkal lang kisame na.
Paulit ulit kasi sa news yung ibang lugar and marami sa area na paulit-ulit pinakikita sa TV, radio, yun ang area ng mga mayayaman…malalaking bahay.
i know affected din sila but they can easily recover.
Pero marami sa lugar namin ang baka kulangin ang buong buhay nila bago uli maka-recover. most of them are labaNdera, tricycle driver.
Nakalungkot na parang even sa news parang binabalewala.
This SOS message eloquently paints how authorities are failing to respon adequately, leaving Filipinos despondent, and angry.
Where is Mayor Sonny ‘Serbiyong Bayan’ Belmonte?
Where is Vice Mayor Herbert ‘Bistek’ Bautista and all the others who festoon the power lines and railings and even bridges with annoying greeting banners!
Where are you when your constituents need you!!!
I’ve retitled this post to try to underline not only the gravty of the situation but to convey the sentiments the flood victims are feeling.
Are they BEING FORGOTTEN?
I had queried a long time friend, Nick Lalog, to try to help the folk of Barangay Sta. Lucia.
The responce of Nick, now a priest in Bulacan, is poignant:
Friends have been asking me why Bulacan is being forgotten in the coverages and relief operations.
But I tell them we can’t wait for them to come to us.
We got to move and do something now.
Will see what I can do there for the people of Sta. Lucia, Novaliches.
Similar cries in various towns here in Bulacan.
